Healing: Earlobe piercings generally heal very well within approximately 4-8 weeks provided the correct aftercare procedure is followed. However, you will need to wait a little bit longer for the piercing to completely heal, allowing you to remove your earrings without the holes closing over.

When caring for your earlobe piercing, ensure that you:

• Refrain from touching the piercing to allow the tender tissue to heal and reduce the risk of inflammation and pain.
• Sleep on your back to reduce pressure on your ears.
• Avoid applying: lotions, moisturisers, perfumes to the piercing area.
• Try to keep your hair tied up and away from the piercing wherever possible during initial healing.
• Clean both the entry and exit holes of your piercing twice a day.
• You should not remove your jewellery during the healing process. The jewellery must be kept in at all times or you will risk the piercing closing over.
